FYI concentrates on the Arts, Culture and Entertainment of Long Island. We tell stories about the people, places, and activities of Long Island, including its two suburban counties, Nassau and Suffolk; and two city boroughs – Brooklyn and Queens. Because Brooklyn and Queens are an integral part of the cultural fabric of this region, we are able to produce stories which reflect Long Island’s urban and suburban sides. These features are conceptualized and produced by upper-level television majors at Hofstra University.” For Your Island is a magazine style television show about the people, places and culture of Long Island. Produced at Hofstra University’s School of Communication, the students of RTVF 164 write, shoot, and produce all of the content for the show. Now in its 35th Season, For Your Island is continually finding new stories about Long Island. If you have a story idea, please contact us.
